Janaya is originally from Brooklyn, New York and now resides in Knightdale, North Carolina with her husband and one year old son. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and owner of Urban Healing Counseling, PLLC a group private practice in Raleigh, NC. 

 

Janaya practices from a trauma informed approach and is nationally certified in cognitive processing therapy (CPT). She is also a clinical instructor at the University of Chapel Hill. Janaya is an extreme introvert, founder and co-owner of Introverted Girlfriends. She loves working with Introverts, People Pleasers, and women with social anxiety.  She has a new passion for working with entrepreneurs. She loves what she does.  

 

Janaya received her Masters in Social Work from North Carolina State University and an Undergraduate degree from St Augustine's College now Saint Augustine's University. 

 

She has witnessed the healing effects of treatment in her extensive work with individuals.  She honors the whole person, and take into account family history, environment, and situational factors.
